about us

About us

Our planet is warming, and the future seems uncertain. But in the
face of this challenge, hope burns bright in the hearts of Somali
youth. We are the Somali Youth Climate Association (SOYCA), and
we’re rising to meet the climate crisis head-on. Since 2022, we’ve
been empowering young Somalis to become the changemakers their
communities need. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on
projects, we’re building a greener, more resilient Somalia. Join us,
and together, we’ll turn the tide on climate change and create a
brighter future for all.
SOYCA operates on the core principles of open dialogue,
collaborative action, and global solidarity. We foster open discussions
on climate issues among youth and women, empowering them to
become informed advocates. By forging partnerships with local
communities, NGOs, and international organizations, like UNDP,
we amplify our impact and address shared environmental challenges
beyond borders.
